This KCCI-RedR India study examines coordination in response to natural disasters across India including the Gujarat earthquake (2001), the tsunami in Tamil Nadu (2004), Orissa super cyclone (1999), and Kosi floods in Bihar (2008). Building on these insights, the study outlines desirable qualities of a coordination mechanism and proposes areas that could be given attention in the future.
This report summarizes findings from the regional review of child centered disaster risk reduction programs in south Asia, conducted by RedR India for Save the Children. This report reviews the approaches and techniques for disaster risk reduction (DRR) with children from three countries- Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka, showcasing best practices from these programs so as to inform the effective design and implementation of child centered disaster risk reduction processes in the future.
