To relieve suffering caused by disasters by selecting, training and providing competent and committed personnel to humanitarian programmes worldwide.
Fundamental Principles
RedR India follows the fundamental principles of RedR International:
Humanitarianism: We believe in the provision of humanitarian assistance to people wherever it is needed to relieve suffering and sickness.
Professionalism: Our staff, members and partners are professional people committed to providing high quality training and expertise in disaster relief and rehabilitation.
Impartiality: We work with people regardless of race, religion or political affiliation.
Inclusiveness: We believe that partnerships with individuals, other organisations and communities promote creative and fruitful initiatives.
Impact: We believe that people in communities and aid agencies should be empowered to develop skills for immediate and future disaster response.
Respect: We believe people affected by disasters can and should be empowered to contribute to relief, rehabilitation and development efforts.
RedR India adheres to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement/NGO Code of Conduct and is committed to the principles of RedR International.
RedR International
RedR is a federation of national accredited RedR organisations registered in Geneva, who share a common Vision and Mission.
RedR is independent. The national organisations, whilst they may act in the humanitarian service of their governments and whilst they be associated with other organisations, maintain their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of RedR.
At present there are RedR organisations in 7 countries including India. The others are located in:
