About our Work

Each year millions of people around the world are affected by natural disaster and conflict. RedR India rebuilds lives in times of disaster by training, supporting and providing aid workers to relief programmes across the world.

RedR India is part of an international federation that provides training, technical support and recruitment services for the humanitarian sector, improving emergency response worldwide.

We do this by delivering appropriate and specialist training to humanitarian organisations and their staff, enabling them to respond to the needs of those affected, efficiently and safely. We also help to ensure that skilled professionals are always available to respond to major global emergencies through our aid worker recruitment service and by advising and training potential new relief workers.

RedR India delivers expertise through:

  • A Roster of Humanitarian Personnel

Our members are at the core of all RedR functions; a trained and experienced community holding disaster response and preparedness expertise. RedR India’s members are multi-sector emergency and development professionals with diverse skill sets.

These members form a unique body of highly motivated and competent individuals who can be called upon at very short notice to strengthen the response of front-line humanitarian agencies.  Members of RedR's registers are carefully interviewed and selected for their personal and professional qualities. For more information mail us at membership@redrindia.org

  • Training/Capacity Building

RedRs have a proven track record of capacity building through its training teams located around the world. Training teams constantly work on keeping the knowledge and information up to date by working closely with local and international organisations.  We build our training around international standards (SPHERE) and appropriate perspectives on gender, poverty, power relationship etc.

In all RedR India trainings, the emphasis is on active learning through participatory group exercises, case studies, role-play, focused discussion, simulations and practice with equipment used in the field. Training is planned and presented, often, in collaboration with relief and development agencies and specialist organisations. We also specialize and deliver tailor-made/bespoke training courses. For more on tailored courses please mail at training@redrindia.org

  • Advisory Services and Technical Support

We provide wide ranging advisory services to various agencies that helps improve effectiveness of emergency response and risk reduction work. These include contextual/bespoke training, development of manuals, technical support on CBDRR, evaluations, needs assessment, strategy formulation, emergency systems development, contingency planning, program designing etc. RedR personnel also provide policy and operational support to humanitarian and development programmes.

RedR understands disasters as an unfinished agenda of development. RedR personnel as well as capacity building programmes have the desired perspective on gender, poverty, inclusive development and community process required to initiate sustainable development and over all disaster risk reduction. For more information on RedR India’s technical support and advisory services mail us at info@redrindia.org
